It's very powerful and I think you should be able to output to svg format from it, which will be a vector that you can import into CorelDraw or Illustrator. As for true vectors though, I think iDraw is the one. Max out the brush size and draw on a canvas 15 x 20 inches with many layers and the thing is as fast and smooth as sliding a piece of paper around on your desktop.

The crazy thing about the iPad Pro and ProCreate is that you can now create incredibly large images, at 300ppi and it's the frst app I've ever seen that suffers absolutely no performance hiccups, no matter what you do. I also use it on my iPad Pro with Apple Pencil. Yeah, ProCreate is considered to be pretty much the best art app on iOS. I can see me using this a LOT more in the future. Here are a couple examples of me experimenting with Procreate's tools, and different file settings to send and trace. Another plus that makes Trace viable when necessary is that Procreate makes a sufficiently large enough source file for Trace to get very good results, whether it's solid line work or well shaded illustrations. The Trace utility in Corel so good since X7 that I can live with it till something better comes along. Sure it isn't vector, but it's so liberating that I'm resigned to the concept of using Trace to convert things to paths when needed. It's really like working in PhotoPaint but being able to use your finger (stylus) directly on the screen with no latency. I mean you literally draw with this thing like it's a pen (or pencil, or brush, or airbrush, or eraser, etc) which you can totally customize to the need at hand.

Working with Apple's iPencil is so completely different than Corel's node to node routines that has me coming at design is whole new ways. Corel needs this!!!īut there's good news - since I first asked this question I downloaded an app called Procreate which is turning out to be an awesome drawing tool that, despite being limited to solely outputting as bitmap, has made the drawing experience so creative and much fun that I can see it becoming a huge part of my toolset. Do you use it? When it creates a PDF is it actually saving vector paths or a bitmap image? Adobe's vector apps that I tried say they will save vectors but in practice that is ONLY if you have a licensed copy of Illustrator on a workstation which can sync with Adobe Creative Cloud.
